French Toast

 

French toast is easy to make and is a good use for leftover bread.  This recipe uses half & half, which makes a richer French toast.  You can substitute all milk if you prefer.

cup milk
1 1/2
cup half & half
6
eggs
1
teaspoon vanilla
1/2
teaspoon cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon nutmeg
2
tablespoons sugar
Bread slices

 

 

Preheat griddle to 375°.  Mix all ingredients with a whisk except bread.  Strain to remove egg bits. Dip bread slices in egg mixture until soaked through.  Cook on lightly oiled 375 degree griddle until brown on each side.  Serve with butter and syrup, if desired.
