Poppy Seed Bread

 

This bread is not difficult and is excellent if you like poppy seeded breads.  Be sure that your poppy seeds are fresh and not rancid.  I usually buy them in bulk and keep them in the freezer.  Wilton (the cake decorating company) makes a butter extract that is widely available in craft stores.

teaspoons salt
1 1/2
teaspoons baking powder
2 1/4
cups sugar

tablespoons poppy seed

eggs

cups milk
1 1/8
cups oil
1 1/2
teaspoons vanilla
2
teaspoons almond extract
1 1/2
teaspoons butter extract

 

 

Mix all ingredients together and beat with mixer 2 minutes.  Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.   Let cool 5 minutes, and then glaze in pan.

Mix and pour over warm bread.
