Spiced Applesauce Bread

 

This quick bread is nicely spiced and a good use for left-over applesauce.

cups applesauce

cup sugar
1/2
cup oil

medium eggs

tablespoons milk

cups flour

teaspoon baking soda
1/2
teaspoon baking powder

teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4
teaspoon nutmeg
1/4
teaspoon allspice
3/4
cup chopped pecans
1/4
cup brown sugar

 

 

Thoroughly combine first five ingredients.  Sift together flour, soda, powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.  Stir into applesauce mixture; beat well.  Fold in 1/2 cup of the pecans; turn into well-greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.  For topping, combine remaining pecans, cinnamon and brown sugar.  Sprinkle over batter.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
