Chocolate Chip Cookies

cup butter, softened
1/2
cup butter Crisco
3/4
cup brown sugar, packed
3/4
cup granulated sugar

teaspoons pure vanilla extract

eggs
2 1/4
cup all-purpose flour
1
teaspoon salt
1
teaspoon baking soda
3
cups chocolate chips (Baker’s semisweet are my favorite)

 

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  In small bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda.  Set aside.  In large mixer bowl, combine butter, shortening, brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla.  Beat well.  Add eggs, beating well.  Add flour mixture and chocolate chips.  Mix in, but do not beat.

 

Drop by walnut size pieces onto ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake one sheet at a time in oven for 10 minutes.  Cool on wire rack. 

 

Makes about 4 dozen.
