Bud Pierce’s Bread Pudding

cup sugar
4
cups skim milk
6
cups stale bread (such as Grandma Sycamore’s), half in crumbs,
half in pieces
8
eggs (4 whites and 4 whole eggs)

teaspoon cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon ground nutmeg

teaspoons vanilla

 

 

Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Spray casserole dish with Pam.  Blend eggs with mixer, add sugar, spices and  milk, blend, add 3 cups of bread crumbs, blend, add vanilla,  and 3 cups of bread pieces and pour into casserole dish.  Bake at 375 degrees for about 50 minutes or until the top is brown.

 

Let set for about 5 minutes and score and then pour topping over the pudding.

 

Topping

ounces whipping cream

cup powdered sugar

teaspoons vanilla

 

 

In saucepan, beat egg.  Add whipping cream and beat thoroughly.  Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat thoroughly.  Heat on low heat and stir until the mixture rises and thickens.  Pour over scored bread pudding.

 

Serves 2 hillbilly’s or 6 sane people per Bud.
