Mud Pie

package Nabisco Famous chocolate wafers*
1/4
cup butter melted*
1/2
gallon coffee ice cream
1 1/2
cups fudge sauce (any thick brand)
whipped cream and almonds for garnish

 

 

Crush wafers or turn into crumbs in food processor or blender.  Add butter.  Pat into a 9 inch pie pan.  Put in freezer for 10 minutes to harden.  Put soft ice cream into pie shell.  Round and smooth top.  Put into freezer until ice cream is firm (an hour or so).  Top with cold fudge sauce.  Store in freezer.

 

To serve, cut into eight portions and serve each on a plate with additional fudge sauce if desired.  Top with whipped cream and slivered almonds. 

 

Serves 8.

 

*May purchase prepared chocolate crumb crust instead of making crust.
