Breaded Baked Chicken

cup fine dry bread crumbs

cup flour

teaspoon paprika

teaspoon salt

1/2
teaspoon garlic powder

1/2
teaspoon black pepper

1/2
teaspoon thyme

1/2
teaspoon oregano

1/2
teaspoon poultry seasoning or sage

1
chicken, cut up or chicken breasts

 

 

Combine bread crumbs, flour, paprika, salt, garlic powder, pepper, thyme, oregano, and poultry seasoning.  Moisten chicken with water.  Roll in crumbs to coat.  Put chicken in single layer in baking pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes, or until chicken tests done.  For barbecue-style chicken, dip chicken in catsup to coat, then roll in seasoned crumbs and bake as above.  Beef and pork may be prepared as chicken then baked until done.  Fish should be brushed with melted butter before rolling in crumbs then baked until done.
