Chicken Noodle Casserole

cups bite-size pieces cooked chicken or turkey

ounces thin noodles, cooked and drained

 

 

Topping

cups soft white bread crumbs, mixed with

tablespoons melted butter

 

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Melt butter in a large saucepan over moderate heat and blend in flour; slowly stir in broth and milk, add bouillon cube, salt, pepper and nutmeg, and heat, stirring, until mixture thickens.  Off heat, mix in chicken and noodles.  Spoon into a buttered 2-quart casserole, sprinkle with topping, and bake uncovered 30 minutes.
