Spiced Cranberries

cup water

cups sugar

tablespoon fresh lemon juice

teaspoon ground allspice
1/4
teaspoon ground cloves

teaspoon cinnamon

cups fresh cranberries (1 pound)

 

 

 

Combine all ingredients, except cranberries, in 3-quart saucepan with heavy bottom.  Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes.  Add cranberries.  Cook over medium-low heat until skins pop open.  Store in refrigerator in a sealed container. 

 

Makes 1 quart.
