Hot Turkey Sandwich

 

 

  Turkey breast slices, cooked
  White sandwich bread, 2 slices per serving
  Creamy Turkey Gravy

 

 

Heat turkey.  Place on top of bread slices.  Cover with heated gravy.  Serve with cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes if desired.

 

 

Creamy Turkey Gravy

cup butter
1/2
cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2
cups water
1/2
cup turkey broth or chicken broth or water

teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/4
teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon thyme leaves
1 1/2
teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet, if desired

 

 

In 3 qt. saucepan, melt butter until sizzling.  Whisk in flour to make a smooth paste.  Brown 3 minutes.  Gradually whisk in water and broth.  Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil (5-7 minutes).  Stir in remaining ingredients. 

 

Yield:  3 cups.

 

If turkey broth is not available, you can use chicken broth or just water.
