Sloppy Joes with Tomato Sauce

pound lean ground beef

cup chopped celery

small onion, chopped

8 ounce can tomato sauce
1/4
cup catsup
2
teaspoons prepared mustard

tablespoon brown sugar or molasses
1/2
teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon pepper
1
tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1
tablespoon vinegar

 

 

In large skillet, brown ground beef, celery, and onion.  Drain excess fat.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  Simmer covered, 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Serve with toasted buns. 

 

Makes 6 to 8 sandwiches.

 

For beef noodles, add 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni, and 3/4 cup more catsup.
